Ballito Microlight Club

Just north of Durban lies the Ballito Microlight Club. It is a serene airfield, and
you can depart on scenic microlight flights, along the beautiful Dolphin Coast,
and even up as far as the Tugela Mouth on a good day. Those of you who have
never flown in a microlight, this is an activity that you must certainly add to your
‘to do’ list. As it is an ‘open cockpit’ aircraft you get a real feeling of flight.
Common sightings of whales, sharks, dolphins, manta rays and schools of fish
add to this once in a lifetime experience. Our qualified pilots will ensure your
comfort and allow you to take to the skies and experience the exhilaration of
open cockpit flying.

20 minute flight: This flight routes along the coastline past Sheffield Beach to
Salt Rock. Regular sightings of Dolphins and a variety of sea life as well as
spectacular views of the aptly named Dolphin Coast.

30 minute flight: This flight routes along the coastline past Sheffield Beach to
Zimbali. This flight is commonly know for sightings of dolphins & gamefish with
time to orbit when sighting whales, sharks, giant mantas and turtles, a truly
breathtaking experience.

45 minute flight: This flight allows us to spend a lot more time along the coastline
and even fly north out of King Shaka’s airspace or South to Westbrook Beach.
Flying North gives us a bit more freedom to fly lower, over secluded beaches and
untouched coastal forests. This is a beautiful flight.

60 minute flight: This is an extension and is the maximum duration flight – but
allows us to fly all the way up to the Tugela River – a sight unto itself. It is a
breathtaking flight.
